We got this, 2016!

Well folks, sorry about the last few months. Things have been crazy and they are about to get a whole lot crazier.

Let’s start with the good news:

On November 23rd, Vaughn asked me to be his wife! We are planning a wedding for December 22nd of this year, and I am so excited to share that journey with all of you.

On that same day, I was offered a wonderful new job as the Operations Director of the Democratic Party of Oregon. This is a fantastic opportunity for me and I am so excited to work for my state and for the Democratic Party to serve our constituents.

So we packed up our little home and found a new place in the great city of Portland. In the interim, while we were packing away and getting ready for the big move, our sweet Marlow dog was rushed into emergency surgery to have her spleen removed due to a ruptured splenic mass, which after biopsy results turned out to be a form of cancer called hemangiosarcoma. She is full of energy now, but still in recovery from her surgery and requiring a lot of extra attention. Image may be NSFW.

We moved up to Portland last weekend, and we are still unpacking and preparing for the new year ahead! I am so excited to share recipes, drinks, politics, and a lot of love with you all in 2016!

Cheers!

Candy Jean
